Are the high end of publishing media opportunities. They offer advertisers the opportunity to associate themselves with an 'interested' and loyal readership. Some points to remember are:

  • Generally the capital cost will be high in terms of actual
    price and cost per thousand.
  • Try to use a 'timeless' creative message because Lifestyle Magazines historically have a long shelf life and could be consumed in up to one years time.
  • Copy should be in line with the target readership.

 

Trade magazines

Or 'Business' titles allow the advertiser to target specific market areas (e.g. Buildings, Electronics, Musical Industry Titles). These magazines are generally sent free to targeted mailing lists,
although some are paid for. It is worth remembering the following:

  • Cost per thousands are usually high due to a finite circulation although, capital costs are generally low for the same reason.
  • Copy should offer a message allowing the reader to associate with it.
  • Response can be measured effectively with most magazines publishing reader response cards.
